Smart, liveable cities

Cities are becoming increasingly important: their populations are growing and the number of people who are dependent on cities is steadily increasing. Cities are the pre-eminent locus for the manifestation of major social, ecological and digital challenges. Meanwhile, the liveability of cities is coming under pressure from urgent and interdependent issues such as the climate crisis, the energy transition and housing shortages.
