Coastal delta of Bangladesh has been experiencing huge climate change impacts over the last couple of decades. Cyclones, tidal flood, heavy rainfall, salinity intrusion and drought have been impacting agriculture and food security. To achieve sustainable water and food security transition pathway is needed. To have a synergistic effect in long-term BDP 2100 and SDGs 2030 relevant stakeholders, their knowledge and capacities are aimed to be bridged and harmonized with the lead of Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) where Khulna University (KU) and Wageningen University and Research (WUR) will remain as consortium partners. The BDP focal point of the Department of Agricultural Extension of Bangladesh government will remain as cooperation partners. All thorough the work living lab methodology will be followed where new knowledge easily passes from researchers to users and where new questions arise from the field and society that quickly and automatically find their way into new research. To achieve the overall goals by five years, this project set four work packages (WPs). WP-1 will work for identifying adaptive-transition pathways and stakeholders’ engagement for science policy interface. WP-2 will deal with nature-based solution of soil and water salinity together with co-creation of salinity information services for the vulnerable farmers. WP-3 encompasses co-creation of hydro-climatic information services. WP-4 involves data and project management and overall administration. Two living labs will be established in Patuakhali and Khulna district, supported with activities national and sub-national level for strengthen science-policy interface and support knowledge utilization. With these efforts project wishes to explore sustainable water and food security mechanisms for the vulnerable people in the coastal area of Bangladesh through enhanced insight in adaptive delta management.
