Exploration of novel approaches to increase the societal readiness level for the quantum/nano-revolution

This project aims at raising the societal readiness level of quantum technology, through three subprojects aimed at different societal actors:

1) Kansen met Quantum (Take a chance on Quantum) will develop and run a program for high school students and their teachers to introduce them to the world of quantum computing. The program includes hands-on experience on the cloud-based quantum computer at Delft (Quantum Inspire), and a game to build intuition in quantum logic.
2) Let’s talk about Quantum will examine the role of emotions, values and art on citizens’ perspectives and ethical reflection on quantum technology. The outcomes will include a short explorative movie for outreach purposes, a better understanding of citizens’ perspectives on quantum technology, and insights into the effect of such a movie on the ethical and critical reflection of lay people on quantum technology.
3) Theatrical Technology Assessment, will investigate through a role-playing approach the stakeholder perspectives and societal implications of quantum and nanotechnologies. Three role play simulations will be developed: one healthcare related (organ-on-a- chip or smart tattoos.), a second connected to nano-materials (in food-packaging or in paint) and a third in the field of quantum cryptography.
