The rise of new families: how can we help them flourish?

In the last years, new family forms have arisen through assisted reproductive technologies. The Gestational carrier procedure (GCP), in which a woman (surrogate mother) carries a baby for another (intended parent) and is pregnant with the eggs of another woman (egg donor), is one of the most recent developments in the Netherlands. GCP allows man-man couples, transgender people, and man-woman couples to start a family. This project will properly shape the guidance for everyone involved in GCP (parents, children, surrogate mothers/carriers, and egg donors) through developing evidence-based guidelines to let children grow up healthy.
