Fair global Research Agenda by Mutual Engagement (FRAME)

Justice and Equality in Research: Recent global assessments (IPCC, GEO, UNEP 2021) call for just transformations, but do not articulate what such justice implies. Hence, this project addresses the question: What needs to be the key component of substantive and procedural justice?

Local adaptation processes of innovation projects in LMICs and effects on sustainable development goals: Innovation in LMICs is becoming more complex due to several interrelated developments. The obtained research insights will be used for the overall aim of the proposed project, that is to set a research agenda. The research agenda will be a key input for sub-project 3.

Research agenda setting: The central question in route 23 of the NWA states “How can we enhance inclusive global development and increase global wellbeing in a sustainable way?” Although it is recognised within this route, that “to be able to investigate inclusivity at global scale a broader spectrum of knowledge and innovation types is needed than traditionally recognized and used by standard Western science”, this principle has not been fully applied to agenda setting. This issue will be addressed in this sub-project.
