Human-AI collaboration for Quantum Technologies

Human intelligence excels at creativity, and artificial intelligence excels at computational power. This project combines both to advance quantum error correction, and to promote societal ownership of quantum technologies. We achieve that through co-creation and co-design sessions on the development of a gamified version of quantum error correction, through which we will measure and extract strategies found by human players. These strategies will be used as seeds for training artificial agents on the quantum error correction problem, which is currently hampered by infeasible training times for large systems. Through the gamification of the problem (which will be both a mobile app and a web app), we aim to reach a broad group of involved citizens and thereby raise awareness that quantum technologies can be used for good, rather than the current perception of it being 'difficult' and 'mystical', and it being used mainly for breaking encryption.
